Education
Dr. Tachere completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Manitoba. In addition to his medical degree, he holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine, a Master of Art in Health & Welfare Management and a Master of Public Health (cum laude). He has also completed a Master of Laws degree with a specialization in Medical Law and has received advanced training in Disability Assessments.
To enhance his clinical proficiency, especially with respect to the rational use of medications in the care of patients in his practice, Dr. Tachere has received further training through the Harvard University Medical School's Seminar Series on "Essential Psychopharmacology: From Neuroscience to Advances in Treatment".

Affiliations
Dr. Tachere is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada and a Fellow of the American Board of Disability Analysts. Additionally, he is a Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada.
Dr. Tachere has the privilege of holding an unconditional independent practice license as a Specialist in Psychiatry with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) as well as the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM). He is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the Neuroscience Education Institute, the Alberta Psychiatric Association, the Canadian Public Health Association, etc.

Recognitions
Over the years, Dr. Tachere has had the honour of being the recipient of numerous accolades including the “Chancellor Award” as the best graduate in the Master of Public Health program; a World Bank-donated prize for “The Most Outstanding Contribution” to the School of Public Health Summer School Series; a “Neuroscience Award” from St. Boniface Hospital (A University of Manitoba Academic Centre); “The Sam and Esther Sair Scholarship” (funded by The Winnipeg Foundation, Manitoba, Canada); etc.
Experience
Dr. Tachere has over 20 years of diverse professional experience within the health and social services sector. He previously practised independently as a Community Psychiatrist in Ontario where he was also an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University. He has co-published in reputable peer-reviewed journals and has presented in several academic forums.

Scope of Practice
Dr. Tachere currently provides psychiatric consultations and ongoing care (based on clinical needs) for adult patients between 18-65 years old only. He is presently in the process of gradually reducing his clinical hours.

He is also actively involved in providing independent psychiatric evaluations, especially those related to occupational disabilities, fitness-for-duty assessments and other civil forensic matters (such as personal psychological injury, civil commitment, capacity assessments for a variety of issues including testamentary, parenting & adoption, guardianship & trusteeship, etc.).
